Year 5 trip to Port Sunlight

As part of our local History study to learn about our class hero, Lord Leverhulme, Year 5 went on a trip to Port Sunlight.
Throughout the day, we found out lots of information about Lord Leverhulme and Port Sunlight. We looked around the museum, had a tour of a worker's cottage, toured the village learning about all of the different buildings and we had a washday workshop in the Lyceum.

We found out how Lord Leverhulme created his village, what some of the rules for the worker's were, how people used to wash clothes without a washing machine and much more!

Did you know... if the children misbehaved in school, then their Dad would get in trouble with Lord Leverhulme and potentially lose their job/house?!

We had a brilliant day!
