Challenge 6: Mental Health Week

This week is Mental Health Week, in this difficult time it is even more important to look after our mental health as well as our physical health. The topic this year is kindness which is something our class has done a lot of work on. So my challenge to you is can you do a simple random act of kindness each day. Can you take a picture and email it to me?

You might also want to create a poster to advertise your 'Random Act of Kindness Week' stating why it is so important. I can't wait to see your designs be as creative as you like!

Here are some ideas of random acts of kindness you could do in lockdown:

  • Ask your parents if you can call a friend that you haven’t spoken to for a while
  • Tell a family member how much you love and appreciate them
  • Make a drink for someone you live with
  • Arrange to have a virtual catch up with someone you know
  • Help with a household chore at home
  • Arrange to watch a film at the same time as a friend and video call
  • Tell someone you know that you are proud of them
  • Tell someone you know why you are thankful for them
  • Send a motivational text to a friend who is struggling
  • Send someone you know a joke to cheer them up
  • Send someone you know a picture of a cute animal
  • Spend time playing with your pet
  • Reach out to a friend, family member or neighbour who is experiencing loneliness or self-isolation
  • Donate to a charity
  • Give someone a hug without a reason
  • Offer to skill share with a friend via video call - you could teach guitar, dance etc.
  • Offer support to your neighbours
The Hay Festival

The Hay Festival runs from 18th - 31st of May and features lots of well known children's authors reading some amazing books. Why not log on and let them transport you into their world.
